Tiaowa (Jumping Frog)

Packaging Design
October 2021

Tiaowa was a trendy toy during 1970s to 1990s. For those born between the mid and late-twentieth centuries, this toy aided in the recovery of fond childhood memories.

The packaging design serves a dual purpose of protection and exhibition, providing a context for consumers to reflect on their nostalgic attachment. Because toys were considered luxury items in the late twentieth century, the majority of children typically owned no more than one jumping frog, providing an appropriate reason for the competition game. The pacaking thus includes a reel-to-reel racing track for people to deeper connect to their childhood memories.
